Association Rules

  1. Annual subscriptions shall be paid before the 1st April and before fishing. Any member or permit holder not paying by this date shall be deemed to have resigned and the next eligeble applicant on the waiting list shall be admitted to the Association.
  2. All applications for membership shall be in writing and each applicant should be sponsored by a proposer and seconder. All applications shall be submitted to the Council for approval or rejection and the Council's desision shall be final. All applications for permit tickets shall be made to the secretary and shall be submitted to the Council for approval or rejection and the Council's desicion shall be final.
  3. Fair angling by rod and line only shall be permitted and any member guilty of the misconduct or impropriety or of any unlawful practise or found guilty by court or law of breaking Rule3, shall be expelled folowing a majority vote of the Council of Managment.
  4. No member or licensee shall be allowed to take a dog with him whilst fishing the Association's waters.
  5. Dead baiting with live bait or with lures of any kind is prohibited.
  6. No member or licensee wishing to fish a pool or run on the river shall approach nearer than twenty yards up and down stream of any member already fishing and the member in possesion upon being asked to do so must move a yard down stream following each cast.
  7. The entrance fee, subscription and license fees shall be such sums as the Association may determine in General meeting.
  8. No member or licensee may take any motor vehicle on to land of any farmer or other person through whose land the waters owned or tennanted by the Association may flow without the express permission of that farmer or other owner and the Committee.
  9. Any member or licensee guilty of leaving a railway gate or any other gate open shall have his ticketforfeited forthwith.
  10. Any Bailiff (E.A), association bailiff or permitt/ticket holder upon producing his permit/ticket may demand to see the permit/ticket of any person found fishing in Association waters.
  11. Permits issued to anglers must be carried by them at all times on their person when fishing, otherwise it will be justified in asking them to leave the river bank.
  12. Shrimping and Prawning are prohibited on the Association's waters. Anyone doing so will be expelled forthwith.
  13. The use of lines (not including casts not exceeding three meetres in length) of a breaking strain of less than 8 pounds is prohibited.
  14. Any member or licensee who takes a tenancy or attempts to take a tenancy of the Association's fisheries or any of them shall be expelled forthwith.
  15. Any member who is refused a permit by this Association for reasons where he has been expelled for violating any of these rules is debarred also from joining any other Association or club who is a member of WSTTA who in turn is affiliated to the Welsh Fly Fishers Association.
  16. All complaints whenever possible must be made in writing to the secretary or any Comittee member.
  17. All bag limits must be in accordance with the EA licence.
  18. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times on the river bank apart from the designated area at Llandeilo Road Bridge, which is only available for Juniors from Ffairfach and Senior Citizens from the same area.
